2023 Settlement Project Spring Conference, Columbus, Ohio

On Saturday, March 25th, The Settlement Project together with Cosponsors, Turning Point, USA *, and FreedomWorks hosted the conference, Tradition, and Family: Values for a Healthy, Stable, and Strong America,  at the Yokoso Center of Columbus, OH

Settlement Project regional representative, Marquis Van De Mark convened the meeting and moderated sessions and panels throughout the day.

The meeting was designed to share and develop effective ways to defend America and free societies from overtly perverse and divisive tactics used to cause moral decline and social destabilization of America and of free and democratic nations worldwide.

In the trademark style of Settlement Project meetings, participants were not divided into “all-stars” and audiences. Instead, the day offered high-level engagement among peers, each imparting and gaining information, knowledge, and action plans from one another.

Settlement Project president, Frank Kaufmann opened the day with a word explaining the history, philosophy, strategies, and objectives of The Settlement Project. The remainder of the morning included a deep account of life in the Ohio State House by House Representative of the 61st District, Congresswoman, Beth Lear. We next received detailed and useful reports and information from Turning Point USA’s Midwest Region Representative Jake Poling, and a clear and impassioned report from Lisa Chaffee, Director, Parents Rights In Education, Ohio, along with other titles and positions of note.

The afternoon work mirrored the morning structure. The opening keynote came from Dr. Kelly Kohls, Director Emeritus of the National School Boards Leadership Council, followed by presentations from Darbi Boddy from the Lakota School Board, Mar Mor Cassianus Lewis, Metropolitan of the Syrian Orthodox Church, and Ali Kucuker of the Turkish American Society of Ohio.

Both morning and afternoon presentations were followed by Q and A sessions with panels of all speakers. Each panel included Mom’s for Liberty, Hamilton County Co-Chair, Leah Cagle.

Again this year, the perfect ambiance, environment, and exceptional hospitality were offered graciously and generously by the owners, management, and staff of the Yokoso Center, Columbus Ohio.
